The Future is Here
Dear Vitro Certified™ Network Member,
When PPG Glass was acquired by Vitro almost two years ago, we promised that this new chapter would position us and your business for the future of glass. Today, that vision and a series of new beginnings continue to unfold.
With Line 1 at our Carlisle plant now returning to full production capacity, our team thanks you once again for your continued support and patience while your business was impacted. As we enter the plant’s new beginning, this issue tells the story of how the Vitro team mobilized to get Line 1 back to full capacity.
Earlier this summer, we began production on Coater7, our new jumbo magnetron sputtered vacuum deposition (MSVD) coater at our Wichita Falls, Texas, plant. Its significance transcends simply larger IGs.
Coater7 represents a dramatic leap in glass coating technology, expanding our coating capabilities not only today but also well into the future. As a Vitro Certified™ Fabricator, in the coming years, you can expect new platforms for glass coating development and accelerated development of advanced high performance coatings. And, in 2019, you can expect even larger coated glass sizes.
On August 16, we’ll launch this new capability at an Open House event at our Wichita Falls plant. As a valued Vitro customer, we hope you can attend and celebrate this milestone in innovation with us.
In this issue of the newsletter, we offer some insight on our logistical preparations to help you satisfy demand for jumbo coated glass while meeting challenging project deadlines.
Meanwhile, our evolution continues with the upcoming September release of Acuity™ Low-Iron Glass—an affordable low-iron solution available with Solarban® solar control low-emissivity (low-e) coatings, offering vivid views with no green cast.
Thank you for being part of our continued evolution and success.
Sincerely,
Mark Seeton
