Reflecting, Renaming and Renewing

Dear Vitro Certified™ Network Member,

With the end of 2022 came the close of the first official International Year of Glass. Along with 74 countries and more than 1,100 endorsing organizations, Vitro and its network of clients and partners celebrated the essential role that glass plays in society and introduced several innovative glass products that take glass to the next level. We’ve reflected on the past year’s accomplishments on our website and invite you to take a look as well, as 2022 was a significant year for architectural glass.

With all that happened last year, you may be wondering what we have planned for 2023. One change to be aware of is the renaming of three key Solarban® glass products. Officially launching this month, you can expect the same performance, aesthetics and Vitro quality you rely on – with new, more descriptive product names.

Solarban® 67 glass is now Solarban® R67 glass and joins Vitro’s family of subtly reflective glasses, including Solarban® R77 and Solarban® R100 glasses.

Additionally, Solarban® z50 glass has been renamed Solarban® 60 on Optiblue® glass and Solarban® z75 glass has been renamed Solarban® 70 on Optiblue® glass. These new names describe the products’ composition as Solarban® z50 glass has always consisted of our Solarban® 60 low-e coating on an Optiblue® glass substrate. Similarly, Solarban® z75 glass is made up of our Solarban® 70 low-e coating on an Optiblue® glass substrate.

Something else to look forward to this year is the new Vitro Certified™ Network website, VCNmember.com. Featuring an updated design that complements other Vitro websites, the new site is a robust home base for Vitro Certified™ members and incorporates interactive and downloadable content such as educational resources, product selection tools, audit materials, quote templates and more. All Vitro Certified™ members will receive an email with instructions on how to access the site and establish a new login and password. If you don’t receive an email and would like access, please contact Patty Fisher at pfisher@vitro.com.

In this issue of our newsletter, we introduce you to Andre Kenstowicz, key projects manager, who finds motivation in large-scale, enduring projects. We also feature a case study on a new office building in a part of San Francisco that is transitioning from an industrial area to a sustainable, transit-oriented neighborhood, and we check in with Daniel Sutton, manager for value added products, to provide more information about VacuMax™ Vacuum Insulating Glass.

We hope you enjoy this issue of our Vitro Certified™ Network newsletter, and from the entire team at Vitro, we wish you a happy and successful new year and thank you as always for your invaluable support throughout the year.

Sincerely,
