Dear Vitro Certified® Network Member,
As we celebrate the arrival of a new year with countless chances to create and innovate, Vitro is proud to recommit to serving our Vitro Certified® Network members in 2024. This issue, we’re introducing two new Vitro products that we’ve been refining for several months to meet the ever-growing demand for increased options for high-performing glass.
After previewing our latest passive low-emissivity glass product in late 2023, we’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of Sungate ThermL™ glass, a low-e coating engineered for use on the interior surface of a typical one-inch insulating glass unit (IGU) that dramatically improves U-values when paired with a Solarban® solar control low-e glass by Vitro on the second surface. Expected to be fully available by the end of Q1 2024, Sungate ThermL™ glass is currently undergoing final transit and line trials, and product samples will be available in early 2024.
This winter, Vitro will also introduce the newest member of the Solarban® glass family, Solarban® 65 solar control, low-e glass. Designed to offer superior energy efficiency, Solarban® 65 glass is a modernization of our popular Solarban® 60 glass that is engineered to meet today’s stricter code standards and sustainability goals while still offering a clear, color-neutral look.
I hope you enjoy reading this issue of our newsletter, which takes a closer look at the science of embodied carbon in this quarter’s Technical Forum. Also included is a feature on the historic BancFirst Tower in Oklahoma City, which was recently glazed with Solarban® R67 Optiblue® glass, as well as a get-to-know story that introduces Erin Casci, whose passion for the environment ranges from her work on sustainability processes and products to her love of the outdoors.
Sincerely,

Mark Seeton
